Carpe! ("Carpe!", "we", "our", or "the app") is a local-first mobile data capture application developed by Kuip Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

1. Information Processed by the App

1.1 Record Data

Carpe! stores the records, database tables, and associated values you create in the app. This may include structured text, timestamps, notes, identifiers, and custom table fields. This data is stored locally on your device.

1.2 Sensor and Device Data

When you choose to use supported capture features, Carpe! may process:

• GPS location coordinates
• QR code and barcode values
• NFC tag values from supported tags on compatible devices
• Bluetooth Low Energy device payloads and sensor readings
• Photos, audio, and other attachments you choose to capture

This information is used to create records in your local databases and is not transmitted to our servers by default.

1.3 Cryptographic Integrity Data

Carpe! can generate cryptographic proof material for records as data is inserted. This may include hashes, rollups, timestamps, and related integrity metadata. These proof records are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly integrate them into another workflow.

2. How Information Is Used

Carpe! uses data only to provide app functionality, including:

• Creating and updating local databases and tables
• Capturing field data through forms, scans, sensors, and attachments
• Running BLE automations and writing results into records
• Generating cryptographic integrity records for stored data
• Displaying, exporting, and managing your records on-device

3. Local Storage and Data Ownership

Carpe! is designed to store data locally on your device. We do not operate a general-purpose backend that receives, stores, or analyzes your databases, records, sensor payloads, or attachments. Unless you explicitly export data or connect Carpe! to your own workflow, your information remains on your hardware.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your app data with third parties. Data leaves the device only when you explicitly choose to export it, share it, or connect the app to an external service under your control.

5. Data Retention

Your data remains on the device until you delete it. You can remove individual records, databases, or all local app data from within the app. Uninstalling the app may also remove locally stored data.

6. Delete Account / Delete Data

Carpe! does not require a remote user account for core functionality. The in-app Delete account action removes locally stored app data from the device, including databases and related metadata.

7. Children’s Privacy

Carpe! is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
